The <ME01 series> is an innovative protection IC that features a built-in OTP (One Time Programmable ROM) to make adjustments of the detection voltage possible even after the IC has been molded.
The IC can be used as a high-precision product with adjusted detection voltage in the same way as the previous model, however detection voltages can also be adjusted while embedded in a PCM (protection module), which allows optimum design even following sudden changes to specifications. If detection voltage is adjusted when products are shipped in response to newly requested specifications, samples can be shipped with 1/4 the manufacturing time of the previous model.
Correcting adjustments to fluctuating characteristics that until now had occurred during the manufacturing process into the final process of IC manufacturing or using PCM provides an approximately 5% increase in usable battery capacity.
