With regard to the earthquake in the northern part of mainland Japan that occurred in
the afternoon of 11 March (Fri) 2011 and the rolling blackouts, this is to inform you of
our operating situation at 18:00 hours on 23 March 2011.

There has been no report of damages on our employees and facilities in the group companies.
There have been some minor damages in part of our buildings, but our business operations have
been unaffected.

Current information on the restart of the main factories affected by the earthquake is as follows:

The headquarters (Tama city, Tokyo)

Normal operation has been restored but our business operation will be affected if the rolling
blackouts are started.

Atsugi Operation Base (Atsugi city, Kanagawa)

Restart of productions in semiconductors' lines is being suspended until the possibility of the rolling
blackouts will be diminished. Also, shortened operation is being continued due to the rolling
blackouts.

Kyushu business plant (Iizuka city,
Fukuoka), Chitose business plant (Chitose city, Hokkaido), Yamagata business plant
(Yamagata city, Yamagata), Akita Business plant (Katagami city, Akita)

Normal operation is done.

Also, deliveries of some products are delayed due to retarded logistics and import/export
inspection in Hokkaido, 6 prefectures in Tohoku, Gunma prefecture, Ibaraki prefecture,
Tochigi prefecture, and Chiba prefecture.
