High-precision overcharge detection
2nd protection IC for the 3-cell lithium-ion secondary battery
MM3563
Announced on September 15, 2011
Overview
Duplicate battery protection is required for equipment using lithium-ion secondary batteries, which calls for higher precision for low consumption currents and voltage detection in the protection IC being used. <MM3563> is the 2nd protection IC for the 3-cell lithium-ion secondary battery, which provides high-precision overcharging detection for the CMOS process.

The consumption current has been limited to 1.5μA typ. under ordinary conditions, and now includes a standby function (consumption current of 0.15μA typ.) to further limit consumption current when the battery voltage is low.
The use of a compact package (SSON-6A) results in an even more space efficient mounting area.

§ Features
1.
Ultra-low consumption current: Ordinary conditions: 1.5μA typ. During standby: 0.15μA typ.
2.
Overcharge detection voltage accurate to ±20 mV (Ta:25°C)
3.
Compact package (SSON-6A, 1.80×2.00×0.75 mm)
