Low charge current detection-type charge control
Charge control IC for solar cells
MM3505XR
Announced on September 29, 2011
Overview
In recent years, the market for solar cells that enable electricity to be generated in an environmentally-friendly way has expanded.
At Mitsumi, we have developed a charge control IC <MM3505XR> with low charge current detection for mobile solar cells.
To improve the power generating capabilities of the solar cell, current consumption is reduced to as little as 1/10 of that of previous charge control ICs, and the low-current region where charge control is possible is expanded to just 1/100 of the minimum level for previous models. Hence, charging is possible even when light levels are low.

§ Features
1.
Due to the low charge current detection configuration, charge control is possible over expanded current range (from 0.2 mA)
2.
Configuration keeps current consumption to 30 μA or less.
3.
Built-in protection functions such as reverse current prevention, cell voltage detection and temperature monitoring.
4.
Small size 3.0 (W) x 3.0 (D) x 0.75 (H) unit:mm
