■Overview
In June 2006, Brazilian government promulgated an Executive order to formally adopt Brazilian digital terrestrial broadcasting system, SBTVD-T (Sistema Brasileiro de Televisao Digital Terrestre), which is based on Japanese ISDB-T system.
According to Brazilian SBTVD forum, it is planning to start the digital terrestrial broadcasting in Sao Paulo area in December 2007 and the digital terrestrial broadcasting can be received in major cities by the end of 2009.
It is also planned that the digital terrestrial broadcasting service will cover all over Brazil by the end of 2013.
With this expansion of the digital terrestrial broadcasting service, the digitalization of receivers will be accelerated and it is expected that there is an increasing demands for tuners to receive the digital terrestrial broadcastings.
Based on this prediction, we have developed the tuner for Brazilian digital terrestrial broadcastings.
We are successful to make this product smaller by adopting the highly-functional and highly-packaged front-end IC and high-performance demodulation IC, and the product can be used in a variety of products such as slim flat TVs and DVD recorders.
The demodulation IC is compliant with ISDB-T standard.
§ Features
1. | With high-performance demodulating IC adopted, the tuner is highly resistant to interferences but it is still highly sensitive |
2. | Small upright type tuner (Compliant with SBTVD-T and ISDB-T) |
3. | With RF loop thru adopted, the tuner is ideal for use in dedicated receivers (STBs) (The receiving frequencies are limited only to the digital broadcasting channel frequencies.) |
