Ultra thin and High gain (2.5dBi or more) Antenna
Dipole Antenna with Periodic Structure Plate
Announced on September 22, 2008
Overview
Conventional high gain antenna has required a radiator and the space between the wave guide and reflector shall be 1/4 of the wavelength, making it physically difficult to make the antenna thinner in thickness (a quarter of the wavelength is 125mm when the frequency is 600MHz). Thus it has been required to review the antenna structure itself so that the antenna thickness can be reduced.
Under the joint study with Professor Nakano of Hosei University to make the antenna thinner, we have successfully developed this antenna while keeping the same level of the gain that has been obtained in the conventional antenna. One patent is now being filed.

§ Features
1.
Given a certain wavelength, the antenna thickness can be extremely small :
In the conventional antenna, it has to be 125mm in thickness when the frequency is 600MHz (λ(F=600MHz)/4=125mm) however this antenna is 35mm in thickness including its external casing.
2.
High gain over wide bandwidth
2.5 dBi or more over the receive bandwidth (470 - 710MHz) of the digital terrestrial broadcasting frequency
