§ Overview
Many home appliances consume certain amount of electricity when their main power is off (or standing by for remote control signal), because their power on/off is switched by their remote controls. The electricity consumed in such status is called "standby power consumption", and power used for this is called "standby power". Standby power efficiency at standby load conventionally has been 40~50% approximately
(*1), consuming twice as much power as necessary load.
The power supply circuit technology for this standby power module has changed the idea from the conventional method of "commutating and smoothing AC input, and switching to gain output voltage directly", and by combining 2 power supply circuits and ideally operating the power of each circuit, low loss and high efficiency is enabled. Also, by incorporating into the control unit our in-house-manufactured IC with our original process optimal for reducing power consumption, loss at the control circuit is suppressed to the minimum, and 2mW
(*2) consumption power at no load status is made possible.
MITSUMI intend to promote research and development of this circuit technology, and to apply for various power supplies.
