At Qingdao City, Shandong Province, the People's Republic of China, some anti-Japan demonstrators broke into the grounds of one of our subsidiaries QINGDAO MITSUMI ELECTRIC CO., LTD. (a totally owned subsidiary of MITSUMI ELECTRIC CO., LTD.) which lead to the destruction, burning and other actions performed on the building and production equipment. We are proceeding with an investigation to confirm damage status, yet we have been unable to confirm the status in detail since local safety has not yet been secured. From here on, we shall be confirming the current status as far as possible while giving top priority to employees' safety. The following details the status we have been able to confirm as of this time and how we shall deal with the situation from here on. We shall notify you later once new information becomes available. <Human Casualties> As far as we have been able to confirm so far, no human casualties with MITSUMI employeesand employees of QINGDAO MITSUMI ELECTRIC CO., LTD. have occurred. From here on, we shall be giving top priority to securing safety. <Damage to Building and Equipment> Some of the production equipment has been destroyed or lost through fire caused by arson, and we have been unable to confirm the total extent of the damage. <Business Operations> It was already decided upon in advance that operations would be stopped until Tuesday, September 18. Operations from this date onwards are undecided.
